Akperan Orshi Polytechnic,
Yandev.
The 9th Governing Council headed by Lady Victoria Pillah, PhD and the management of Akperan Orshi Polyetchnic Yandev undertook a rigorous exercise to fill the existing vacancy for the position of rector of the institution.
The position was advertised, twenty-three(23) candidates applied, eight(8) were shortlisted while fifteen(15) were disqualified.
The eight(8) candidates shortlisted were screened and interviewed by the joint selection board of the polytechnic , from the candidates screened Nicodemus Terkaa Nombor Ph.D emerged and was appointed rector of the polytechnic by the Visitor.
The screening committee was headed by Mrs Helen Nambativ, permanent secretary, Ministry of Education and knowledge Management.
The 9th Governing Council Chairman, Lady Victoria Pillah, PhD inaugurated the brand new Rector in an emergency GC meeting held on 7th March, 2026 in the office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Benue State and Visitor of the Polytechnic, Very Rev. Fr.Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
Members of the Governing Council in attendance for the inauguration were Four Permanent Secretaries :

- Mrs Theresa Ikwue , the Hon. Commissioner Women Affairs
Other members present were Mr Joseph Adi, Mr Nicholas Ugallahi, Mr Simon Onuh the Ag. Rector, Kume Aondo Ph.D , Patrick Apaa, Emmanuel Chirah, Nande Tarker, Ezekiel Gbile Gundu Ph.D and Timbir Fan recorder to the 9th Council.
